Parents Association

You're already a member! When you enroll your son at CBHS, you become a member of the Parents Association. There are no dues or minimum commitment — only an open invitation.

The school year is full of events and traditions, and we would love for you to play a role in making them happen. If you can commit time, expertise, or treasure, there's a place for you — however your schedule allows.

How Parent Volunteering Works

Parent volunteering at CBHS is organized around an event or a season. This keeps the ask specific and finite: you're not signing up for a year of meetings, you're signing up for one dinner, one sale, or one Saturday.

Some support tasks are seasonal, forming a few weeks ahead of a single event. Others run year-round with rotating shifts. Mrs. Maness and Mrs. Norske recruit for each one as its season approaches, so you'll hear from them with specifics well before anything is asked of you.

Where Parent Volunteers Help

Welcoming new families. Orientation check-in, hospitality, and making sure families new to CBHS feel known from the first meeting.
Freshman traditions. The Father and Son Dinner and Grandparents Day breakfast — planning, setup, and service for the events that mark a student's first year.
De La Salle's Closet. Organizing and staffing our used school clothing sale, which makes our dress code accessible and affordable for all CBHS families.
Campus at Christmas. Decorating the building and grounds. We provide the decor; you bring the Christmas cheer. Dads, the outdoor decorations are always looking for hands.
Faculty and staff appreciation. Gathering gift cards, in-kind donations, and monetary contributions to thank the people who teach and care for our sons. This one asks for your network more than your calendar — a call to a favorite restaurant or a contribution of any size makes a difference.
Social events. Family Dinner at football games, class socials, and community gatherings, mainly assisting with same-day prep and execution.
Trivia Night. Organizing our signature adults-only event for the CBHS community.
Senior traditions. The Mother/Son Luncheon and other events honoring our graduating class. We have a standing need for parents with a talent for floral arranging — if you have an eye for it, and you're not a mother of a senior, this is a place where that skill is genuinely visible, and it's the kind of contribution people remember years later.

Alyssa Maness P'24 '30 and Stacy Norske P'30 work alongside the Parents Association year-round, coordinating volunteers and making sure parents who want to help are connected to the right opportunity at the right time.

They handle logistics so parent volunteers can focus on the work itself — recruiting, matching interests to needs, communicating dates and details, and staffing events from setup through cleanup. If you're not sure where you'd fit, start with either of them. That's exactly the question they're here to answer.
