The success of Christian Brothers High School through the years can be attributed to a number of sources: strong leadership; involved parents; committed faculty; loyal alumni; and dedicated board members. These are what have sustained the LaSallian tradition of CBHS in Memphis for 147 years.
Much of the school’s success is also the result of the financial support of our family members. This support enables the school to do a variety of things that go beyond what tuition allows.Brother David Poos, FSC, is president of Christian Brothers High School. He took over leadership of CBHS on January 1, 2019, becoming the 19th President in the 147-year history of the schooll. Br. David graduated from Newport Catholic High School (Kentucky) in 1972. He received his BA in Humanities from CBU in 1976, Masters in Reading from St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1982, and Masters in Secondary School Administration from St. Louis University in 1991. From 1976 to 1989, Br. David taught at Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Newport Catholic High School, St. Mary High School in Paducah, Kentucky, and LaSalle High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served as President of Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1989-2002. Br. David worked in Development at De La Salle Middle School at St. Matthew’s in St. Louis before returning to CBC-St. Louis in 2004 where he was Principal until 2015. He then came to teach at CBHS in Memphis. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Winona, Minnesota. His past affiliations include: Board of Directors, CBHS, Memphis; Board of Directors, La Salle Retreat Center, Wildwood, Missouri; Board of Directors, De La Salle Middle School at St. Matthew’s, St. Louis; Catholic High School Principals Association, Tulsa; Board of Directors, CBC High School, St. Louis; and Provincial Council for the Saint Louis District of the Christian Brothers.
Ken Kimble (CBHS ’92) is the Director of the Capital Campaign and Foundations.

Brother Joel McGraw, FSC (CBHS ’63) serves as Special Assistant to the President. He also serves as full-time Archivist for the school, assists the Development Office in various capacities, and continues to teach in the classroom.
Cindy Werner, Donor Records and Gifts Coordinator, processes any donations that come into the school and manages donor files.
Laura Hughes is the Development Assistant.
