Five seniors named National Commended Students

Congratulations to Christian Brothers High School seniors Austin Abbott, Jack Jerit, Matthew Lamanilao, Garrett McFadden, and Grayson Raulston for being named National Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. In late September, more than two-thirds (about 34,000) of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT® receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise. Commended Students are named on the basis of a nationally applied Selection Index score that may vary from year to year.

“These five young men are outstanding students, and the CBHS community is proud that they have achieved this high level of success,” said Paula Mistretta, CBHS Director of College Counseling. “They, along with our two National Merit Semifinalists, have demonstrated the dedication, discipline, and devotion needed to attain these top academic honors. They have done excellent work in this tough and competitive environment .”
