Christian Brothers High School is proud to announce that Alan Black '20 and Zach Karmel '20 have been named seminfinalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Competition. They were among 16,000 students announced as semifinalists across the country.
Blake Lawler '20, Casey Riordan '20, and Jay Schaffler '20 were commended for their performance in the competition, placing among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million who entered the competition for 2020.
Students enter the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) during their junior year. Semifinalists then continue to compete for more than $31 million offered in 7,600 National Merit Scholarships this spring.
