Presidential Merit Scholarship

The Presidential Merit Scholarship is awarded annually to incoming freshmen who show outstanding academic achievement and potential, as indicated by their scores on the CBHS Placement Test. Once at CBHS, recipients will be expected to enroll in a challenging academic pathway that includes Honors and Advanced Placement courses. This is a merit-based award. Families do not need to apply for financial assistance in order to receive a Presidential Merit Scholarship.

Financial Assistance and Affordability

We recognize that a private school education is a significant investment. In accordance with the Brothers' mission, CBHS awards need-based tuition assistance to our families in need. Last year, we awarded more than $2.2 million in financial assistance and merit-based awards. Our Financial Aid Committee reviews all applicants thoroughly with the goal to support as many qualifying students as possible.*

By providing this support to eligible students, Christian Brothers High School continues the mission of St. John Baptist de La Salle. Through the generosity of our community, CBHS is able to provide need-based financial assistance to more than 35% of our student body.

The deadline for entering freshmen to complete the financial aid application is December 15, 2023. Applications can be submitted securely online with a $40 processing fee to FACTS.

For questions regarding financial aid for incoming freshmen, contact Lauren Volpe, Director of Admissions, at (901) 261-4918 or by email. For questions regarding financial aid for returning students, please contact Dana Alford in the school business office.

*Inaccurate information submitted on a FACTS application can result in altered financial assistance.

CBHS contracts with FACTS Management Company to manage our tuition payment program. All families are required to enroll with FACTS Tuition Management to make tuition payments.

Tuition Refund Insurance

It is always in a family's best interest to enroll in our Tuition Refund Plan that refunds unused tuition in the event of a student's withdrawal from CBHS. This is why we require a family's enrollment in the Plan if they pay tuition in installments since students are contractually enrolled for the full school year.
