  • 2. Visit our Campus

The CBHS community is always on the move, so whether you are well-acquainted or have just learned about us, your family is always welcome on our campus. • 3. Apply Online

Online applications for the regular decision period must be completed by November 25 of the eighth grade year. The online application also serves as official registration and payment for the High School Placement Test at CBHS. Please note, the $100 application fee covers the application as well as the cost of the entrance exam.*

The application for the 2020-21 school year will be available September 1, 2019.
  • 4. Entrance Exam

The primary test date for the Class of 2023 is Saturday, December 1, 2018. The completed online application and application fee serve as the student’s registration for the entrance exam. Test scores serve three purposes: determine qualification for merit-based scholarships (must test at CBHS on the primary test date only), contribute to the overall evaluation of the applicant record, and allow us to ensure that, upon enrollment, he is placed in appropriate classes. Late applicants will be scheduled for a second test date in January. If extended time is needed, appropriate psycho-educational documentation from a licensed professional must be submitted by November 25.
  • 5. Applicant Interview

Each applicant will be interviewed by CBHS faculty and staff during the month of January. Applicants will receive details about particular dates and times in December following the High School Placement Test.
  • 6. Tuition Assistance Application (if applicable)

Those interested in need-based financial aid must apply online through our third-party financial need analysis partner, FACTS Grant and Aid. The deadline for entering freshman to complete the application is January 15. Please use your most up-to-date financial information when filling out the FACTS. For entering freshman supporting tax documents (W-2’s and federal returns) can be those filed from the previous calendar year.*

*any information that is found to be inaccurate on the FACTS can result in adjusted financial assistance
  • 7. Enrollment Contract and Tuition Deposit

After careful evaluation of entrance exam scores, other standardized test scores, middle school grades, conduct reports, attendance records, teacher recommendations, student writing samples, and the admission interview, qualified applicants will receive an acceptance letter and enrollment contract in mid February. Space permitting, late applicants will be notified in later rounds. The executed contract (completed online) and $415 deposit ($215 non-refundable enrollment fee + $200 tuition deposit) are due March 1 - once received, the student’s spot in the class will be secured, and the class scheduling process can begin. All families are also encouraged to purchase tuition insurance.
*Late Applications (rolling admission) Those who miss the November 25 application deadline, and thus the primary entrance exam date, will be scheduled for a second test date on January 12, 2019. We institute a rolling admission policy for late applicants, which means that after the first round, late applicants are evaluated and contracts are extended to qualified candidates as space permits.

Students admitted to CBHS must begin classes at the start of the school year in August, or at the start of the second semester in January. Requests for admittance at any other time during the school year will be considered only if warranted by circumstances (such as family relocation to the Memphis area).
