Library & Technology Services

The Pender Library seeks to empower students to be enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, critical thinkers, and ethical users of information.

Our library staff maintains a wide-ranging collection of books, media, primary sources, and research materials for its students, faculty, and staff. Among these resources is an extensive collection of periodicals and research databases accessible both on and away from campus. Guided by library staff and teachers, students learn how to search, evaluate, organize, analyze, and share information.

Contact Ms. Cathlyn Tsirgiotis with any questions regarding our Library Services.

About Gene Pender '42The Pender Library at Christian Brothers High School is named in honor and memory of alumnus Gene Pender '42, who later attended college on the same campus (then Christian Brothers College). Mr. Pender left college in 1943 to fly cargo planes for the United States Army Air Corps.

Though he did not maintain a residence in Memphis, he remained connected with the Brothers. At the time of his passing in 2005, Mr. Pender left portions of his estate to both CBHS and CBU In recognition of their influence in his life.
