Media Access

CBHS requires that all news media contact Jamie Elkington, Director of Marketing and Communications, at (901) 261-4953 or jelkington@cbhs.org before coming to campus for a story. With advance notice, on-campus security will be advised to allow for convenient parking and to offer additional support when needed for visiting journalists.

If a student interview is requested and appropriate, the Marketing and Communications Department will assist in identifying the student and coordinating an interview as necessary.

Limited Access Areas

Indoor facilities are not open to the media unless accompanied by a member of the school’s Marketing and Communications team or an administrator. Media members that do not secure permission to be on school property must limit all news-related business to public areas, such as sidewalks and/or surrounding streets, so as not to interfere with instruction or create traffic hazards. CBHS parking lots are private property.

Media Coverage of Public Campus Events

CBHS hosts numerous programs and events that are open to the general public. For any on-campus sporting event, or special event where a news release has been issued, prior contact with the Marketing & Communications Department is not necessary. However, in order to cover events at a closer range, media members must agree to our Media Credential Policy and request a Media Pass at least 48 hours before the game or event. Interviews with student-athletes before and after on-campus practices, scrimmages, or games must be approved in advance by Thomas McDaniel, Director of Athletics, at (901) 261-4961 or tmcdaniel@cbhs.org.
