SGA is responsible for
enhancing school spirit,
providing activities for
student involvement, and
sponsoring school wide
events. Executive officers
are elected in the spring
for the following year, and
homeroom representatives are
elected in the fall. Open

Art Club
The Brothers’ Art Club is a
collaborative creative
environment for members to
use their artistic talents.
Utilizing each others’
skills, members will be
responsible for a variety of
projects to benefit our
campus aesthetics, as well
as creative service projects
for other schools and
organizations. Membership is
open to all students.
Portfolio submission is
required.

The CBHS Band, established
in 1873, is "The Oldest High
School Band in America".
Throughout its long history
the band has provided
musical culture and
entertainment to both school
and community.
Membership is open to all
students and no experience
is necessary. Band is
a for-credit course and is
part of the student's
academic schedule.

Bridge Builders® develops
among high school students a
group of future leaders who
will lay aside individual,
social, economic, and
cultural differences to work
for the benefit of all. It
is a two-year program
that comprises students from
all public, private, and
parochial high schools in
the Memphis area. It is
open to Sophomores who apply
and are selected to fill the
16 CBHS membership positions
at Bridge Builders.

Brothers On Stage is a
co-curricular theatre
program that explores,
teaches about, rehearses and
presents three to four
main-stage productions per
year. Dramas, comedies,
musicals, classics, modern
works and physical
theatre all find space on
our stage; instruction and
experience in all aspects of
theatre, performance and
technical theatre is
available. Open to all
students. No experience
necessary.

The Big Brothers is a
group of seniors selected by
the SGA Executive Board for
their commitment to CBHS and
positive attitude. They
meet several times during
the year with the freshmen
to help answer questions and
concerns they may have about
their first year at CBHS and
to encourage their little
brothers to become active
and involved.

FILM SOCIETY offers
students a chance to view
and study significant films
through a focus on themes,
directors, and actors and
actresses. A $5, one-time
"admission" allows students
to see any or all of the
films throughout the year.
The FILM SOCIETY also
sponsors an OSCAR Contest
during the Spring.

The French Club
introduces students to the
culture and customs of
French society and instills
members with a global
perspective. Members must

Classical Studies. Members
must be enrolled in a Latin
course at CBHS.

Key Club is a student-led
organization that teaches
leadership through serving
others. Part of the Kiwanis
International family, Key
Club members build
themselves as they build
their schools and
communities. CBHS Key
Club will provide at least
60 hours of service to the
community per member per
year. Membership requires
3.0 GPA and teacher
recommendation.

THE KNOWLEDGE BOWL TEAM
consists of six students,
chosen from written and oral
competitions, who compete
for scholarship funds as
part of WREG-TV's KNOWLEDGE
BOWL COMPETITION. As long
as the team remains
competitive, practices
usually occur
two afternoons per week.
The "Brain Wave" may also
compete in other academic
competitions throughout the
year.

Lasallian Youth is an
organization formed in the
tradition of the founder,
St. John Baptist De La
Salle. We are part of a
world wide organization that
works to promote a spirit of
faith, service, community,
and social justice on campus

The Math Club offers
opportunites to further
explore the exciting world
of mathematics! Members will
also have opportunity to
provide community service by
tutoring other students,
particularly at the Jubilee
schools. Members must be
CBHS seniors enrolled in
Honors or AP Calculus.

the National Honor Society
is to create enthusiasm for
scholarship, to stimulate a
desire to render service, to
promote leadership, and to
develop character in the

The Organization of Young
Political Scientists
comprises students who are
interested in learning more
about politics and
government. Members
participate in a number of
conferences throughout the
year including the Model
U.N. and YMCA Youth
Legislature. Open to all
students.

in the form of lab
experiments and field

Activities include
monthly dinners, soccer

language clubs and service
projects to the Hispanic
community in Memphis.
Members must be enrolled
in Spanish or have a special
interest in the language.

Student Ambassadors
Ambassadors are students
who will represent CBHS with
pride, who know the school,
have good communication
skills, and would be good
role models for future
students. Their primary role
is to serve as hosts and
tour guides to campus
visitors, particularly
prospective students and
parents. Students in grades
10-12 who are interested is
applying for a limited
number of positions, must
participate in a training
program.
