Pender Library All materials for students grades 9-11 are due May 15, 2008.
Library Hours: 7:15 AM to 4 PM, Monday - Thursday 7:15 AM to 3:30 PM, Friday The library is also open by special request on evenings and weekends if groups of students need additional library time. Students should contact one of the librarians well in advance in order to set up these special times. Checkout Policies: Items in the library generally fall into three categories: regular circulating books, special check-out items, and reference books. Regular circulating books, such as works of fiction, biography, history, etc., may be checked out for two weeks. Special check-out items, such as clippings from newspapers and periodicals, or pamphlets, may be checked out for as long as needed. Reference books may be checked out for overnight --or weekend--use only and must be returned the next school day before the beginning of homeroom period. Photo Copying: The library staff will photo-copy items for students at the cost of ten cents per page. Payment is made at the time of service. Library Passes: Students needing to use the library during a class period or study hall may do so, provided they have a library pass from the teacher. Students may also use the library during their lunch periods. Library passes are required and may be obtained in the main lobby. Juniors and Seniors not having a scheduled class during first or seventh periods do not need a pass to use the library during those times. Locating Books: If a book listed in the computer catalog is not on the shelf, it may be 1. mis-shelved; look around in the immediate shelf area; 2. checked out by another student or faculty member; ask for information at the circulation desk; 3. lost; ask one of the staff for information; 4. at the bindery for repairs; 5. on special or closed reserve for a class project; check at the circulation desk.
