FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What
information is on my high school transcript?
The high school transcript, which may be mailed to colleges or other
appropriate agencies, shows semester grades and credits, semester and cumulative
grade point averages, and standardized test scores.
In addition, the transcript shows the student’s attendance record, mailing address, date
of birth, social security number, and other identifying information.
Note: Transfer
students will have separate transcripts for each high school
attended. All high school transcripts will be mailed to colleges
upon the student's request. The formula for calculating the
cumulative GPA varies from one college to the other.
How do I send a transcript to a college?
Transcript requests should be submitted to the records
clerk in the Counseling Center, preferably one week prior to the desired mailing
date. To be considered
"official" a transcript must be mailed directly from CBHS to the
receiving party. A fee is charged
at orientation to cover the cost of processing transcript requests.
No further fees are required.
How
do I sign up for Driver 's Education?
Driver's Education classes are
provided on the CBHS campus by Pitner Driving School, Inc. Instruction consists of thirty
hours of classroom and six hours of actual behind-the-wheel driving. Check
the dates on the CBHS calendar for "Driver Education Registration
Week" -- usually the last week in October for the November session and in
March for the spring session. Registration forms are available at 7:30
AM in the Counseling Center the first day of registration week.
Applicants must be at least 15 years old or older either before or during the
two-week classroom period of Driver's Education. A learner's permit is not
required for enrollment. Students may register themselves with a check made payable to CBHS.
Registration is on a "first come, first served" basis. The class
fills quickly. Notices
will appear in the daily bulletin prior to registration.
Does
my Driver's Education grade count in my GPA?
Driver's Education
grades do not count in the CBHS GPA, and the credit does not count toward
graduation. However, the grade will appear on your transcript if an
official grade report is submitted to the Guidance Secretary.
If I can't attend
the Driver's Education classes taught at CBHS, where can I find classes that fit
my schedule? Call 767-4704 or
go to www.pitnerdriving.com or
contact your counselor for other options.
How do I sign up for a
Peer Tutor? The Peer Tutoring Program is
designed primarily for students who are having difficulty mastering a
subject. Students may request a Peer
Tutor by filling out a "Peer Tutor Request Form" and putting it in Br.
Roman's box in the Counseling Center. Shortly after the request is
submitted Br. Roman will match the student with another student who is
proficient in a subject. Students and their tutors meet before or after
school.
How can I
make sure that I receive credit for Summer School classes?
CBHS students who
attend summer school at another school must notify the Guidance Secretary upon
returning to school in the fall. Give her a copy of your report card or if
you have no report card, tell her the name of the summer school
attended, the course taken, and the grade and credit earned.
Will the F
that I earned at CBHS be removed after I make up the course in summer school?
The F will
remain on your transcript, but the summer school grade and credit will also be
added to your transcript, thus improving your GPA and credit status.
Note: CBHS accepts
summer school credits from accredited summer school programs for courses failed during the regular school year.
Students must obtain approval from the administration before enrolling in a
summer school program. Summer school courses for review or preview of material are not accepted for
credit at CBHS.
