Introduction to Physical Sciences

EVALUATION:

This course is a 1 credit, year-long course required for all freshman.  As a sciences course IPS promotes learning in a number of areas – data collecting, observing, measuring, creativity of thinking, reasoning, awareness of lab and safety procedures, proficiency in communicating ideas and concept development.  Learning is always an active skill.  It is best accomplished through repetition, reinforcement and practice of skills and concepts through experimentation and guided reasoning.  

GRADES:

        50% of the final grade will come from the student’s homework assignments. These include all:  Section Review questions, Workbook, and Handouts.

         50% of the final grade will come from tests and quizzes. Since 30 minutes of IPS studying is to be done each night, quizzes may be given often.
