Parents Annual Giving Event (PAGE)

PAGE Goal=                   85% Participation

Percentage to date=  32% Participation

The Parents Annual Giving Event (PAGE)  is our yearly "call to action" for our current parents to support the CBHS Annual Fund.  This directly reduces tuition by helping to offset costs like teacher salaries, textbooks, technology, and other aspects of our school’s daily operations. The annual fund allows CBHS to offer financial assistance to students who could never otherwise afford a Christian Brother’s education.  While many of you know that Christian Brothers offers financial aid to some of its students, you may not realize that every student at Christian Brothers is actually the recipient of financial assistance. On average, the actual cost for CBHS to educate your son is $2,403 MORE than the actual tuition that Christian Brothers charges you.  The Annual Fund also supports all of our arts, extracurricular activities, and athletic programs.  Direct program support is done by designating gifts through the annual fund to a specific program or activity.

This $2,403 tuition gap is an important part of the Brothers’ Lasallian mission to keep tuition down and provide a quality education to all young men regardless of background or ability to pay. This strong Lasallian tradition is one of the many things making CBHS a truly unique and special place to educate our young men.  It's the reason many of us are here. Regardless of whether this is your son’s senior or freshmen year, you are a part of a very special Christian Brothers community. By joining together as a community and participating in this year’s Parents Annual Giving Event, we show our support for the Christian Brother’s Mission. We help bridge the tuition gap, and we make a Christian Brothers’ education cost-accessible to as many families as possible by keeping tuition as low as possible.

Your Gift Definitely Counts!

Why parent giving matters:

  1. Your tuition does not cover the entire cost of educating your son. Currently, there is an average $2,403 “gap” between what you pay and what the school charges. Why not just increase tuition? By keeping tuition as affordable as possible, we are able to educate students from all socio-economic backgrounds.
  2. Parent participation matters to many foundations and major donors. If parents show a high level of support, then donors see it as a place worthy investment.
  3. Giving back shows a spirit of gratitude and thankfulness to the faculty and staff of CBHS. Your gift will directly benefit your son’s education here at CBHS.
  4. All gifts are welcome and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Though we realize each family’s ability to give is different, we also realize that every family has the ability to participate. No gift is too small. Together, let’s help our boys!

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS PAGE?

Our Parents Annual Giving Event (PAGE) is our yearly "call to action" for our current parents to support the CBHS Annual Fund.  This is a significant driver of external support to CBHS as we ask every parent to consider making an Annual Fund gift.  We

HOW ARE PAGE GIFTS USED?

PAGE gifts go directly into the school’s Annual Fund, which supports the operational budget at CBHS. They are used to fund teacher salaries, textbooks, student desks and chairs, computer software, computers, printers and scanners, technology in-service for teachers and other aspects of the school’s daily operation.  Gifts may also be designated to any of the schools arts, extracurricular, or athletic programs.    This allows our program administrators and coaches to focus on teaching, supporting, and coaching our Brothers' Boys instead of fundraising.

WHY DOESN’T CBHS JUST INCREASE TUITION?

As with all Christian Brothers schools, CBHS strives to remain cost-accessible to as many families as possible. CBHS is very blessed to have parents, alumni and friends that believe in the vision and value of a Catholic education. A strong and successful PAGE program enables tuition to remain at a level that is achievable for all CBHS families.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TUITION AND REGISTRATION PAID BY EACH STUDENT AND THE ACTUAL COST OF HIS EDUCATION?

For the 2017-18 school year, this difference is $2,403. This is referred to as the “Gap", which is supported through the Annual Fund.

WHAT ARE THE GOALS FOR PAGE?

The goal for PAGE is 85% parent participation.

IS A PAGE GIFT MANDATORY?

All PAGE gifts are free-will donations. However, it is hoped that 100% of the families will participate as 100% of our students directly benefit from gifts to the Annual Fund.

HOW MUCH DO YOU EXPECT ME TO GIVE?

Ideally we would love for each family to make a gift in the amount of $2,403, the “Gap”. It is our belief that all families can participate at some level. We realize that everyone is blessed with different giving capacities, and our hope is each family will prayerfully consider a gift at a level appropriate for their family and value of the education their son is receiving from CBHS.

WHY IS MY PARTICIPATION IMPORTANT?

Your participation represents your membership in the CBHS community, the value you place on your son’s education, your belief that every boy should have access to quality education, and your commitment to helping other young men receive the same quality education that your son is now benefitting from, with the help of those who have given in years past. It is all part of the Lasallian tradition of ensuring that everyone has access to a quality education.  PAGE also sets the tone for the CBHS community for the year to come because it shows that our parents are truly committed to and excited about what is happening at CBHS!

WILL I BE RECOGNIZED FOR MY CONTRIBUTION?

Yes, your name (not the amount of your gift) will be included in our Annual Report.

WHAT IF I CANNOT DONATE THE ENTIRE AMOUNT AT ONE TIME?

PAGE commitments can be fulfilled in installments through June 30, 2018.

HOW DO I MAKE MY COMMITMENT?

Returning parents will be sent a renewal letter based on their previous year's giving.  New parents will receive their invitation to give after CBHS 101. Commitments can be made through the Annual Fund remittance envelope enclosed with the letter, through our online portal, or by calling (901) 261-4927.
