Words from St. John Baptist de la Salle
“How long has Jesus been knocking at the door of your heart, waiting to enter?”
The Brothers’ Way
The young boys who enter CBHS are challenged to grow into young men of faith and character. Throughout their experience as a Brothers’ Boy, they will learn about the Brothers’ Way—a set of virtues that each Brothers’ Boy should embody in his life. Each month throughout the school year, teachers and students will focus on a different virtue in order to expand their understanding of themselves and the world around them. These virtues each connect to one of the 5 Lasallian Core Principles.
During the months of February and March, we focus specifically on the Lasallian Core Principle—Faith in the Presence of God. An important component of faith is the virtue Prayer. Prayer is vital in developing and maintaining a relationship with God. Throughout February, students and faculty will be encouraged to enhance their prayer lives and become more aware of the presence of God. Take a moment and check out the suggestions on this website for ways to strengthen your prayer life. Take some time during the month of February to discuss prayer with your son and spend some time in prayer with him.
Teach me how to pray. So many times I come to you like a troubled child, lost and struggling. Help me to enter into prayer with more faith. Help me be open and honest when I come to you. Help me to relax in your trusting arms. May your Holy Spirit give holy breath to my soul. Amen.
Lasallian Youth will be serving at the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen on Saturday, February 11 from 8:30-11 am. To sign up to join the group that morning, email Mr. Perry at email@example.com.
During the month of February, Father Joey Kaump, pastor of St. Anne Church, joined us to celebrate an all-school Mass on Friday, February 3 for Catholic Schools Week. Catholic Schools Week was January 30-February 3 and focused on the theme—Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.
