Students win honors at TN Latin Convention

The CBHS Latin Club attended the Tennessee Junior Classical League's State Convention April 25-26 in Murfreesboro.  In Academic Testing, freshman Riggs Markham brought home six individual awards, including 1st place Vocabulary, 1st Place Derivatives, 2nd Place Reading Comprehension, 2nd Place Ancient Geography, 2nd Place Roman History, and 3rd Place Latin Grammar. Freshman Andrew Scherson won 1st place in Ancient Geography and 4th Place in Roman History. Junior Myles Joyce won 3rd Place in Advanced Reading Comprehension. Sophomore Matthew Crowe won 1st Place in Ancient Geography and 2nd Place in Roman History. Other students placing in the top ten on individual tests include Jonathan Forcherio, Zach Hodge, Lance Sanderson, Cole Perry, and Chris Pratt. For his outstanding performance, Riggs Markham was recognized in the final awards assembly as one of the top 10 overall Latin students in the state of Tennessee. Congratulations to all the students who participated.
