Children of Holocaust survivors address CBHS, St. Agnes students

On April 25 the Facing History and Ourselves students here at CBHS were joined by FHAO students from St. Agnes as Dorothy Goldwin and Rachel Shankman joined us for our 2nd Generation Panel.

Dorothy and Rachel are both children from families where both of their mothers and fathers survived the atrocities of the Holocaust.  Both of their families lived in Poland before the German occupation of Poland and the imposition of the Holocaust upon Polish Jews in occupied Poland.  Dorothy Goldwin has spoken here at CBHS with her mother Paula Kelman.  Rachel Shankman was the long-time director of Facing History and Ourselves Memphis office at CBU before retiring in 2014.  Rachel has spoken at CBHS on several occasions to our FHAO students.

"Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to help our kids truly grasp the content we have been sharing in class," said Keith Wood, CBHS history teacher and organizer of the event.
