Band takes 1st place in Charleston Festival; earns superior scores at HS Band Concert

Congratulations to the CBHS band, under the direction of Patrick Bolton, for taking first place this past Saturday in the Southern Classic National Festival in Charleston, South Carolina."They were the highest rated ensemble in the Festival with a composite score of 93.7," said  Bolton. "They also played a great concert at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina on Friday. They have represented the school well."'

The band also performed at W.C. Handy’s Birth Home in Florence, AL along the way. After this tour the Christian Brothers Band will have had played in every state South of the Mason-Dixon.

The band also excelled at the March 9 WTSBOA Senior High Concert Festival at Colonial Middle School. Out of all of the grade 6 bands, only two (Overton and CBHS) made straight 1 Superior Scores. Only five schools from our area made straight 1 Superior scores in all of the divisions. Below is one of the judge’s comments (you can hear the band in the background).

"These guys worked very hard this semester and are really one of the best groups I have had the pleasure to conduct," said Bolton.
