Brothers skeet and trap teams achieve summer success at nationals

Congratulations to CBHS Brothers in Arms team for their summer success. Nationals was held July 11-16 at Cardinal Center in Marengo, Ohio. This is a 200 bird completion that is shot over two days. The Brothers’ team was one of 115 complete varsity teams and 32 junior varsity teams in the competition.

10 boys competed on the skeet team with a great showing, coming in 8th in the High School division shooting 557/600. Several boys shot their personal best at these Nationals where 861 athletes competed. JV Skeet participants were Nico Helm, Griffin Decker, and Spence Escue. The Varsity Skeet participants included Luke Drewry, Tyler Brewer, Hugo Larrea, Will Grochau, and Nick Cicincelli.

Brothers-In-Arms Trap team had a wonderful showing bringing home two 3rd place trophies – a junior varsity with score of 955/1000 and a combined varsity, junior varsity team. Seth Cooper(JV) stepped up his game by shooting trap doubles coming in 5th in the JV division with 181. The top CBHS students were Will Wolbrecht, Michael Brungardt, David McNamara, Seth Cooper, and Patrick Koch. There were 260 total JV (men) athletes at Nationals.

In the Varsity Team division, the team scored 977/1000. This is a team award so all get credit - Sam Bartholomew, Cameron Boyer, Tyler Brewer, Michael Brungardt, Josh Abraham, Seth Cooper, Daniel Crocker, Clifford (Chip) Davis, Trace Donaldson, Nick Gatti, James W. Hall, Patrick Koch, Philip Manzo, Thomas David McNamara, Ben Owen, Philip Posey, Justin Rech, Jackson Roberts, Connor Saig, Dan Smythe, Will Wolbrecht, Winston (Ruffin) Wood, and Anthony Young. The top 5 were Gatti, Wood, Smythe, Cooper, and Wolbrecht.

The total number of Trap athletes at Nationals was 1, 831. Again, many athletes shot their personal best. Awesome job by all the Brothers-in-Arms!
