CBHS students raise $$ for St. Jude in honor of freshman classmate

On Saturday, September 26, supporters from 58 communities joined together in the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer during September's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The event is a 5K walk/run to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This family-friendly walk/run helps raise funds to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude, where no family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food. St Jude’s goal this year was $360,000 which they surpassed by raising more than $433,000.

Christian Brothers did its part joining the event with a team in honor of freshman Jackson Christian Hendrix, who currently is battling liver cancer. The group raised over $2,900 through donations and shirt sales. A group of CBHS students, Hutchison, family members, and friends showed up to the event. “Thanks to all that participated in the event,” said Spanish teacher Juan Garcia, who coordinated the CBHS effort for the walk.
