CBHS Chorus, Band excel in competitions

The CBHS Brothers of Faith Chorus fared very well at the March 27 Chorus Memphis choral competition.  Men's Chorus received and Excellent rating (II) Honors Chorus received straight ones from the judges and in sight reading gaining them not only a Superior rating but also a Sweepstakes award.   Chamber Choir also received straight ones from the judges and in sight reading gaining them a Superior rating and a Sweepstakes award.

"The directors at other schools were shocked to hear such a great product from an all boys school.," said director Michael Williams. "They represented the school exceptionally well both in performance and in behavior. "

Also, congratulations to the CBHS Band which took first place with a superior rating in performance and sight reading in the highest division possible (grade 6) at the WTSBOA Concert Festival, held at Liberty Tech on Friday.  Only five bands dared enter as a division 6 level this year including Arlington Wind Ensemble ,Overton Wind Ensemble, Houston Wind Ensemble, Cordova Band, and our very own Christian Brothers Band. Not only did the band score a superior rating but they received superior ratings in every category including sight reading, sweeping the competition. Great solo's from Foster, Eavenson, Milbury, Atkinson, Sater, Sauser, Devall, and Rodgers along with high completes in the low brass section with Forcherio, Steorts, Charbonnet, Abbott and Benson in charge. 

The performance  of “Constellation March” and “Occident and Orient” can be heard on the  band camp site at:

Also, congratulations to the Christian Brothers Band members who participated in the WTSBOA Solo and Ensemble festival last Saturday hosted at Elmore Park Middle School. The band received 25 superior solo medals and 19 superior ensemble metals. Thanks for representing us well!
