Students collect more than 500 coats for the homeless

The CBHS Winter Coat Drive, to benefit the clothes closet at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, concluded today. Since the beginning of the drive on Oct. 27, the CBHS community contributed more than 500 coats in this effort to keep many of the homeless warmly clothed this winter. We more than doubled our goal of 250 coats. For over a week students dropped off coats to Ms. Gerry Taulman (the drive coordinator) in room 112, whose 2nd period class packaged them up and took them to the library window each day so others could see our progress toward our goal. Advisory 356, led by Ms. Sharon Reichard contributed 112 coats! This was a fantastic effort to help the homeless in Memphis! 175 of the coats went to the WREG News Channel 3 Coat Drive. Member of the freshman advisory class of Ms. Reichard (Schneider House), along with Ms. Taulman, delivered the coats Nov. 13.
